Most sunscreens contain toxic ingredients and chemicals that actually promote skin cancer growth.
In fact, since sunscreen use began, skin cancer rates have risen and reports show that most sunscreens actually increase skin cancer risk. These “false protectors” contain aluminum, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide, aluminum silicate, aluminum stearate, aluminum starch octenylsuccinate (which is a known neurotoxin and PRO-oxidant). Always ask yourself: Would you eat it? “NO!” Then why let your skin drink it directly into your bloodstream?!?
The best-known natural sun blocks are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, naturally occurring minerals more effective than most chemical sunscreens. They work as a barrier against sun damage. Since there is a severe shortage of vitamin D in most people’s bodies, getting sun exposure is far less damaging than you would think.
Studies show, that people who consistently live over 100 years old around the world get out in the sun daily. If too much sun is expected, they bring shirts or hats. What a brilliant idea! *smirk*
How to make natural sunscreen:
1/4 cup coconut oil (natural SPF 4)
1/4 cup beeswax
1/2 cup almond or olive oil
2 Tablespoons Zinc Oxide (Do not inhale the powder).
Optional: Vitamin E Oil, Shea Butter, Essential Oils
Combine all ingredients except zinc oxide in a pint size or larger glass jar.
Fill a medium saucepan with 2″ inches of water and place over medium heat.
Put a lid on the jar loosely and place in the pan with the water.
As the water heats, the ingredients in the jar will start to melt.
Shake or stir occasionally to incorporate.
When all ingredients are completely melted, add the zinc oxide, stir in well and pour into whatever jar or tin you will use for storage.
TIP: Small mason jars (pint size) are great for this.
Stir as it cools to make sure zinc oxide is incorporated.
Use as you would regular sunscreen.
Best if used within 12 months.
